‘Bangkok Breaking’ on Netflix: everything you need to know before its launch

How much do you really know about Bangkok? A street food hub, a nightlife paradise, or a city full of dark secrets? Well, you’re about to discover the lattermost from Bangkok Breaking, an upcoming Thai original series from Netflix.

Set to go online next month, the six-episode series revolves around the main character, Wanchai (starred by Sukollawat “Weir” Kanarot), who moves to Bangkok Metropolitan to seek big opportunities by working with an emergency rescue team—but only to find himself tangled in dark big-city messes. Joining the cast alongside Thailand’s hunky heartthrob is Sushar “Aom” Manaying as Kat, a journalist youngblood with an aspiration to fight against the corrupt.

The show is directed by Kongkoat Komesiri (Slice, Muay Thai Fighter, Khunpan). The showrunner and executive producer is well-known author Prabda Yoon (Last Life in the Universe, Invisible Waves).

“Netflix viewers across the world will witness the varied, contemporary state of Bangkok – from opulent skyscrapers to microcosmic communities strewn throughout its alleyways – through the journeys of Bangkok Breaking’s many characters,” Prabda said. “Each element of their stories reflects the social reality in all the shades of white, black, and grey on the tapestry that is Bangkok.”

This 6-episode Thai action-suspense series will be streaming globally on Netflix. Every element of Bangkok Breaking reflects social reality in all shades of Bangkok’s tapestry, so it will be an intriguing watch for Bangkokians. Moreover, it’ll deliver a new impression of Bangkok that is fresh to both international and even Thai eyes.
