All of us – no matter what part of the world we find ourselves in – face unprecedented challenges. Life, as we know it, has gone into meltdown. The simple pleasures such as having a coffee (or something stronger) in the company of friends have, among other things, been swiftly taken from us. It seems like just about every avenue of pleasure is now blocked.

We have never known anything like it before and, with the grace of God, let’s hope we never know it like this again.

So, what does the immediate future hold in store?

Here at the magazine, we are clear in our thinking. It is our intention to continue to provide a service to our clients and our readers. We will continue to produce printed copies of REm ensuring the magazine is in venues you can visit, take a trip to one of the main supermarkets aimed at ex-pats and you will be able to pick up a copy. Also, visit our website where a full copy of the magazine can be viewed online.

This is where our feature writers will step up to the plate. Rest assured, we will strive to maintain the high levels of content. No virus will deflect us from this.

So, how else can we help the community?

Well, we are keen to support businesses if at all possible. If you think we can help you or your business friends, let us know. We make no carte blanche promises, but if we can help, without compromising the integrity of the magazine’s content, we will.

Email us at [email protected] and let us know what you have in mind.

This is not complete altruism on our part. We know that a healthy business sector in Pattaya is in the best interests of everyone. Anything we can do in the short-term to help is likely, in turn, to help REm in the long-term.

Over recent days many pundits have compared the coronavirus pandemic to a war situation. The difference today is that the ‘enemy’ wears no uniform and the ‘weapons’ it uses cannot be seen. It will be a difficult battle, but here’s hoping that you and all those close to you remain unscathed.

As the sergeant in the Hill Street Blues TV series used to say: “Let’s be careful out there.”

If ever there’s been a time for caring about each other … it’s now!
