Beger Company Limited has unveiled the results of a 10-year “Real House Testing” research project, marking the first real-home performance study in the global paint industry. The long-term research was conducted to evaluate the performance of the BegerCool product range under actual residential conditions rather than relying solely on laboratory testing.
The initiative was developed to address Thailand’s highly variable climate, where factors such as intense sunlight, high temperatures, humidity, and heavy rainfall can significantly affect the durability and efficiency of exterior paints. According to Puangpen Saengphet, the company aims to ensure that every performance claim made by the brand can be proven under real-world conditions.
The Real House Testing project simulated real residential environments by installing monitoring systems to measure temperature, energy usage, and surrounding environmental factors over time. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of heat-reflective coatings and their durability in tropical climates such as Thailand.
The study is particularly relevant as rising temperatures continue to intensify across the region. Data from the Thai Meteorological Department indicates that summer temperatures can reach 38–42°C, and when combined with humidity levels of 40–60%, the Heat Index may exceed 50°C, with extreme cases approaching 58°C, a level considered potentially dangerous for human health.
Beger stated that the research sets a new benchmark for the architectural paint industry by emphasizing real-world performance validation rather than relying solely on laboratory simulations.
The company’s commitment to innovation has also earned national recognition. Recently, Beger received the “Champ of the Champs” National Innovation Award from the National Innovation Agency, selected from more than 300 organizations previously recognized for innovation over the past two decades.
In addition, Beger has won four awards from the Future Trends Awards over the past two years, including The Most Innovative, The Most Impactful, Leader of Technology, and Leader of Social, reflecting the company’s leadership in advancing innovation within Thailand’s paint industry.
