Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited represented by Dr. Taweesak Bunluesin, director, together with service station dealers nationwide, business partners and Esso Employee Club donated 746,546 Baht fund to Dr. Pornthep Pongtawigorn, director of Banphaeo Hospital (Public Organization).

This fund goes to the “Bring Back Vision with Kindness” campaign, aiming to enhance the efficiency in helping cataract patients at the hospital and at mobile units.

Dr. Taweesak said “Esso is committed to supporting the communities where we operate from Esso Sriracha Refinery to service stations like where we gather today in Wang Manao. Supporting this campaign, we see the potential of Ban Phaeo Hospital in expanding the healthcare service opportunity to remote communities and saving many more cataract patients in the future.”

Dr. Pornthep added “Bringing back vision and light to the lives of the patients are one of the greatest gifts you can give. Patients suffering from cataract can hardly distinguish day from night due to poor vision. A lot become depressed after finding these hindrances in their daily living. Helping these patients see clearly again will bring smiles back to them.”

Ban Phaeo Hospital is a hospital specializing in Ophthalmology, supporting referrals from Suphan Buri to Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Apart from the average of 500 patients visiting the hospital on a daily basis for eye surgery, the hospital has the largest mobile cataract unit that travels to remote parts of Thailand. The mobile unit has already helped over 100,000 cataract patients to see again.
