joins forces with Thailand’s authorities

announcing its readiness for “ROYAL’S CUP 2020”

Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, in partnership with Thailand authorities and event sponsors, announces their readiness to organize “ROYAL’S CUP 2020”, set to take place from 12-15 March 2020 at Grand Prix Golf Club, Bo Ploy District, Kanchanaburi Province.

The competition will attract 150 of the world’s top golfers to contend for a total prize of $400,000 (about 12,000,000 THB) with four special Hole-in-one Prizes and three Albatross Prizes worth 12,000,000 baht.

The ROYAL’S CUP 2020 is organized by Grand Prix International Public Company Limited and supported by many partners including the Sport Authority of Thailand (SAT), Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and Asian Tour. This winner of this prestigious golf tournament will have the honor of receiving the Royal’s Cup, bestowed by King Rama X for the first time in Thailand. Joining this event will be 150 professional golfers comprised of 90 Asian Tour golfers, 40 Thai golfers, and 20 invited golfers. Competitors include Scott Hend from Australia, Shiv Kapur from India, as well as leading Thai golfers such as Poom Saksansin, Phachara Khongwatmai, Pavit Tangkamolprasert, Gunn Charoenkul, and more, all with an eye on the $400,000 prize.

“ROYAL’S CUP 2020 aims to honor His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun (Rama X) and to promote Thailand as a world-class golf destination as well as to improve the working standards of golf-related practitioners and to promote Thailand’s tourism industry, boosting local and domestic economies. The ROYAL’S CUP 2020 tournament also provides an opportunity for professional Thai golfers to compete with international golfers in their homeland, so they can learn and develop their skills in the future. This year’s event is also part of the 50th year celebration of the Grand Prix International Public Company. And as the ROYAL’S CUP 2020 is the first-ever golf tournament that is sponsored by more than one car brand, and the Grand Prix Golf Club is the only golf course in the world that has sponsors at every hole, the competition has four hole-in-one prizes for the winner on the 3rd, 5th, 12th, and 16th hole, those being MG ZS EV, MITSUBISHI All-New Xpander, Mazda CX-5 2.0 SP and TOYOTA CAMRY 2.5 Hybrid HV respectively. Furthermore, there are three Albatross prizes for the winner on the 2nd, 14th and 18th hole; they will receive a Volkswagen Multivan, Fiat Classic Car – Fiat 850 Sport Spider (1968-1974) and ISUZU All-New ISUZU D-MAX HI-LANDER 4 doors 1.9 Ddi Blue Power Gen 2 Type Z respectively. These special prizes are worth a total of 12,000,000 baht. We’re confident the ROYAL’S CUP 2020 will be the most exciting golf competition in Thailand.”

Set on 2,400 acres, the Grand Prix Golf Club is a superb golf course located in Thailand’s Kanachaburi Province with an abundance of natural scenery that takes the breath away. This will enhance their skill development, making golf an even more popular sport in Thailand.”

Besides the exciting competition, the ROYAL’S CUP 2020 will include many activities and workshops, including a Photo Call (10 March) to promote the tournament, a Golf Clinic set to support and inspire junior golfers and assist in their skill development through training sessions with professional golfers, and a Pro-am Tournament (11 March) where the event sponsors compete with the participating players and experience the atmosphere of the course.

The ROYAL’S CUP 2020 will be broadcast on the 14-15 March 2020, being the last two days of the competition, approximately 3 hours per day from 13:00 – 16:00 hr. through True Visions Network, reaching over 20 million households nationwide.
