Want to get out of the City? Don’t want to travel far?

Feel like a quiet day on the beach, maybe a little snorkeling? but don’t know where to go!

Don’t worry we do and we are going to tell you all about it.

SAMAE SAN ISLAND

Samae San Island is a great island to visit if you need a day away from the chaos, noise and the crowds in in Pattaya.

It doesn’t take long to get there, under an hour car/bus ride to Samae San Port (the Port itself has a really interesting museum called (Thai Island and Sea Natural History Museum).

Once at the Port the ferry journey only takes 15-20 min to the island.

Haad Tien Beach is your stop on the Island and there are two beaches for you to explore Haad Tien being one and the other being Luk Lom Beach.

The two beaches are only 1km apart so are easy enough to get around.

The main activity here is snorkeling, and with crystal clear blue water and many coral reefs you can see why.

The waters are absolutely stunning with many fish to see including Nimo’s and if you’re feeling a little more adventurous the area is great for diving also. Other activities on the Island include Kayaking and Biking with bicycles available for hire.

Samae San Island is under the control of The Royal Thai Navy this ensures it’s clean, quiet, and safe.

The Island is simply stunning and from the hilltops you have beautiful panoramic views of the ocean and beyond.

We recommend you book in advance as tourist numbers are limited to 500 per day, so it’s never too busy and you can enjoy this peaceful location.

Regarding the boat and tickets for traveling to the island:

Thai nationals have to bring their own ID card and pay 300 THB while foreigners have to bring their own passport and pay 600 THB.

  • The ticket is a one-day travel. You cannot stay overnight on the island.
  • No alcohol / no bikinis to be worn on the island

The first boat departure begins at 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (every 1 hour) and the last boat departs from the island leaves at 4.30 p.m.

Have a great time in Samae San, you won’t be disappointed!
