The Bank of Thailand will release new banknotes nationwide on mark King Vajiralongkorn’s birthday

The bills will begin circulating on July 28.

The back of the largest denomination – the Bt1,000 note – will portray King Vajiralongkorn and his father King Bhumibol, (King Rama IX) on the back.

The reverse of the Bt500 notes will feature King Ananda Mahidol  (Rama VIII), with King Prajadhipok (Rama VII).
