TAT and Red Bull Make History with Wingsuit Flight Over Bangkok, Reinforcing Thailand as a Global Extreme Sports Destination

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with Red Bull, has created a landmark moment for Thailand’s tourism and extreme sports scene by supporting a historic wingsuit flight over Bangkok. Miles Daisher, a Hollywood stuntman and member of the Red Bull Air Force team, jumped from an aircraft and soared past the iconic Lebua at State Tower at speeds of up to 260 km/h before landing precisely on a boat in the Chao Phraya River on March 27, 2026. This milestone marks another step forward in positioning Thailand as a leading destination for experience-based and adventure tourism.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, stated that this collaboration aims to promote both sports tourism and experience-based tourism, attracting high-quality travelers from around the world to create meaningful and memorable experiences in Thailand. Extreme sports are considered a growing subculture trend that TAT is actively promoting under its “Amazing 5 Economy” strategy, helping to increase visitor spending and length of stay while strengthening Thailand’s image as a global hub for experiential and adventure travel.
Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, added that this historic wingsuit event reflects a shared vision to push beyond the limits of traditional tourism. By bringing an activity typically associated with natural landscapes into the heart of Bangkok, the event showcases Thailand’s readiness as a dynamic destination that embraces innovation while preserving its cultural identity.

Set against Bangkok’s dramatic skyline, Miles Daisher performed the wingsuit flight after jumping from an aircraft above the city, gliding past Lebua at State Tower—an internationally recognized landmark featured in The Hangover Part II and home to Sirocco and Sky Bar—before landing with precision on the Chao Phraya River, captivating both Thai and international audiences.

The success of this event highlights Thailand’s potential as a global stage for international events that seamlessly combine excitement with cultural identity and urban landscapes. It also inspires a new generation of travelers and adventure seekers to explore Thailand through new dimensions—whether through nature-based adventures, sports tourism, or outdoor activities in diverse destinations such as Krabi, renowned for its world-class cliffs and beaches.

This historic wingsuit flight not only sets a new benchmark in extreme sports but also redefines Thailand’s image as a “Global Destination” capable of hosting world-class events with high standards of safety and professionalism.
