Thailand continues to reinforce its position as a global leader in architecture and design, as reflected in the success achieved at the Asia Pacific Property and Hotel Awards 2026, held at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. This year’s competition attracted more than 814 entries from across the Asia Pacific region, with a total of 440 projects receiving awards under internationally recognized judging standards.
As a principal sponsor of the event, LIXIL, through its brands American Standard and GROHE, joined in recognizing outstanding achievements in innovation, design, and sustainability under the theme of “Innovation,” which focuses on enhancing quality of life while promoting the efficient use of resources.
This year, Thailand secured an impressive 116 awards, the highest number in the region, reaffirming the strength and international competitiveness of the country’s real estate and design industries. Among the standout winners was Veranda Resort Phuket, Autograph Collection, a project celebrated for its contemporary design approach and seamless integration with the local context.
Mr. Suebsakul Lacharoj, one of the executives of August Design Consultant Co., Ltd., the design firm behind Veranda Resort Phuket, Autograph Collection, which won an award for outstanding hotel interior design, commented:

“One of the most important aspects of this project was creating a design that genuinely embraces nature and responds to its surroundings. In particular, we wanted the panoramic views of Ao Yon Bay to become an integral part of the guest experience from the very moment they arrive. The lobby, for example, was envisioned as an open pavilion that draws the horizon and natural atmosphere into the interior space.”
The project’s design is distinguished by its fluid architectural forms. The ceiling design was inspired by canyon-like rock formations, creating a sense of movement and depth throughout the space while allowing the surrounding landscape to remain a central element of the guest experience.
The project also reflects a contemporary interpretation of Phuket’s local identity, drawing inspiration from the island’s natural geological formations, coastal textures, and Sino-Portuguese architectural heritage. These influences are thoughtfully expressed through various design details, creating an immersive experience that allows visitors to connect deeply with the destination.
Mr. Suebsakul added: “This award means a great deal to our team because it serves as an important affirmation that the design philosophy we have always believed in can deliver meaningful results and gain international recognition. We strive to find the right balance between preserving a location’s unique character and meeting the standards of international hospitality. Our goal is to create designs that are both distinctive and practical for long-term use. This recognition strengthens the confidence of our clients and business partners while motivating our team to continue raising the quality of our work.”

He concluded: “For us, growth is not about taking on the greatest number of projects. It is about continuously improving the quality of our work, building a strong team, and carefully selecting projects that align with our values. We aim to create meaningful spaces that offer genuine value and foster a real connection between people and the places they experience.”
This achievement not only highlights the global potential of Thai designers but also serves as a significant driving force in elevating the standards of the real estate industry throughout the Asia Pacific region. It underscores a future shaped by innovation, sustainability, and an enhanced quality of life for all.
