The Forestias Open House 2026 Invites Visitors to Experience “A Day at The Forestias”

Bringing Wellness and Longevity into everyday living, The Forestias combines residential living with a 30-rai Miyawaki forest at its heart. After seven years of growth, the forest is now home to 714 recorded plant and animal species.

BANGKOK, – The Forestias, a mixed-use development located on Bangna-Trad Road at Km 7, developed by Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC), has announced a major milestone in transforming its master plan into a fully realised destination. The project demonstrates how a natural forest, rich biodiversity, luxury residences and wellness-focused spaces can come together as an integrated ecosystem in which people can genuinely live, connect and experience nature. This achievement brings to life the vision of “A Complete Ecosystem for Wellgevity Habitat.”

Mr. Kittiphun Ouiyamaphun, Project Director of The Forestias, said: “The Forestias originated from a vision by Ms Thippaporn Ahriyavaranont, Founder of MQDC, who began with a fundamental question: ‘What is true happiness?’ This led to an exploration of ways to address the challenges facing modern cities, including environmental degradation, stress, generational gaps and ageing societies. We believe that ‘sustainable happiness’ must benefit not only our physical and mental well-being, but also the people around us and the environment.

Kittiphun Ouiyamaphun, Project Director of The Forestias

“This vision is reflected in the concept of ‘Wellgevity Habitat’, which brings together Well-Being, Longevity and Habitat, with biodiversity serving as the project’s fundamental infrastructure – ‘Nature of Biodiversity as Infrastructure’. This principle has guided every stage, from research, planning and surveying to ongoing management, demonstrating how business, health and the environment can exist in balance.”

To turn this vision into reality, MQDC collaborated with leading international partners, including Foster + Partners for master planning and architecture; Atelier Ten for environmental and ecosystem consultancy; ITEC Entertainment for recreational experiences; and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health to research the impact of design on human health. The development also received support from the Research & Innovation for Sustainability Centre (RISC by MQDC) and leading academic institutions, working together to ensure the project’s vision and objectives were successfully realised.

Construction of The Forestias began in 2018, and some residential developments have already been completed and handed over to residents. The project represents the first successful large-scale forest planting and restoration initiative at the heart of a mixed-use development in Asia (as of 29 October 2026).

The development is built around four key pillars:

  1. 500 Shades of Nature – A thriving urban forest that supports a healthy and interconnected ecosystem.
  2. Connecting 4 Generations – Architecture designed to bring families of different generations closer together.
  3. Community of Dreams – A hub of activities and shared amenities that encourages people to connect and enjoy experiences together.
  4. Sustainnovation for Well-Being – Sustainable technologies and innovations that minimise environmental impact while supporting long-term well-being.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Singh Intrachooto, Sustainability Innovation Advisor at RISC by MQDC

Assoc. Prof. Dr Singh Intrachooto, Sustainability Innovation Advisor at RISC by MQDC, added: “The Forestias development concept aligns with several dimensions of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Biodiversity (SDG 15): The 30-rai forest, covering 48,000 sq.m. or 45% of the project area, was established using the Miyawaki method. After approximately seven years, the latest survey recorded 714 species of living organisms, comprising 533 plant species and 181 animal species.

“Energy and Carbon (SDGs 7 and 13): The Central Utility Plant (CUP), together with solar energy, helps improve energy efficiency. The project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) per year. In addition, it has a broader target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by a further 83,000 tonnes CO₂e associated with the development and construction process.

“Water and Waste Management (SDGs 6 and 12): The project operates under a Net Zero Discharge concept, focusing on wastewater treatment and water reuse within the development to minimise the discharge of treated water into the city’s drainage system. It also aims to divert at least 90% of construction waste from disposal through sorting, recycling and the appropriate reuse of materials.

“Health and Communities (SDGs 3 and 11): Residential spaces are designed to accommodate four generations, while sustainable mobility is encouraged through shuttle bus services, EV charging stations and planning that reduces reliance on private cars. The development also features a Canopy Walk, elevated approximately 8–12 metres above ground and accessible to the public.

“In addition, The Aspen Tree, in collaboration with the Health and Brain Center, promotes the physical, mental and social well-being of older adults. Happitat, meanwhile, serves as a lifestyle and activity hub for the community. Together, these initiatives reflect a residential development approach that supports quality of life and sustainable coexistence between people and nature.

“The biodiversity we have created is about much more than increasing green space. It is about restoring the ecosystem and bringing nature back as an integral part of the environment. Forest restoration creates habitats and encourages the return of diverse species, transforming the area into a ‘forest of life’ that benefits all living things. The discovery of more than 700 species confirms that people and nature can thrive together sustainably when the environment is thoughtfully designed and managed in balance,” Dr Singh concluded.

Biodiversity at The Forestias continues to grow following the start of forest planting in 2020. According to a survey conducted on 4 October 2026, dominant mature trees now reach an average height of 12.23 metres, with an average diameter at breast height of 16.01 centimetres. The tallest tree stands at approximately 18 metres. A total of 533 plant species have been recorded.

The forest has also become a habitat for a growing variety of wildlife. The number of recorded animal species increased from 127 in 2020 to 181 in 2025, while the project was still under construction. The number is expected to rise further once the development is completed.

The wildlife survey recorded 47 bird species, 80 insect and arthropod species, 14 aquatic animal species, 25 reptile and amphibian species, seven mammal species and eight soil-dwelling animal species.

To give visitors an opportunity to experience the development first-hand, MQDC is hosting a series of activities under the theme “A Day at The Forestias” from 29–31 October and 1 November 2026. Visitors can explore the 30-rai forest, enjoy panoramic views from the Canopy Walk, tour completed residences that are ready for occupancy and take part in wellness activities – experiencing what a day of living at The Forestias could look like.

Residences Ready to Welcome Residents

The residential developments currently ready for occupancy include:

Whizdom The Forestias

Developed around the concept of “Feel the Wild”, Whizdom The Forestias comprises two projects across three towers:

  • Whizdom The Forestias: Destinia & Mytopia Towers – Designed to meet the lifestyle needs of younger generations and families, with natural surroundings that complement everyday living.
  • Whizdom The Forestias: Petopia Tower – A condominium designed for pet lovers under the concept “Pets Live Here”, creating a living environment where pets and their owners can enjoy happiness together.

Mulberry Grove The Forestias

Designed for multi-generational families, Mulberry Grove The Forestias comprises super-luxury low-rise condominiums in a resort-style setting, alongside ultra-luxury villas developed under the Cluster Home concept. Foster + Partners serves as the architectural design consultant.

The Aspen Tree

The project works in partnership with Canada’s Baycrest, a world-leading organisation in brain health and healthcare, to bring its expertise and care standards into everyday living. Its holistic approach provides continuous support throughout different stages of life.

Beyond its residential offerings, The Forestias also features non-residential developments that further enrich the overall lifestyle experience. These include Happitat, a lifestyle retail destination at the entrance to the project, bringing together dining, shopping, entertainment and special events throughout the year.

The Forestias is therefore more than a residential development. It represents a new model of living in which nature, health, relationships and happiness can grow together in a sustainable way.
