Mustang Blu is situated in the China Town area of Bangkok or to be more specific Maitri Chit Road and this 100-year-old colonial building although revamped is absolutely beautiful and holds close not only the heritage but also retains its historical Thai-Chinese charm.
The location originally renowned for its Thai-Chinese community vibe has recently undergone somewhat of a transformation with the introduction of café culture and the area is now thriving among young, hip Thais in search of good coffee, great pictures, and art. As a result, the nightlife and lifestyle scene in the area is world-class.
In recent years more and more people have begun to realise its potential and designers like Chalatchareon have jumped on the opportunity to capitalise on that. In turn, a number of classic buildings around Chinatown – or Yaowarat as its known – area have been getting a little extra attention.
Mustang Blu is a 10-room hotel split across three levels with each room differing in size each fitted with its own clawfoot bathtub, an antique bed, and a vintage-styled desk. The hotel itself sports bare concrete walls, wooden furniture, vintage ceramics, marble tiles, and old-fashioned decor.
Naturally finished wooden floorboards compliment raw concrete walls, high ceilings, and original columns, and the interiors are furnished with oversized exotic taxidermy, giant tropical palms, artwork, antique furniture, and vintage books.
This Bangkok boutique hotel is simply dreamy and we couldn’t recommend the place highly enough.
If you’re in the area why not stop by their café, whether its breakfast, brunch, or afternoon tea, you won’t be disappointed, the Roasted Duck with Marmalade Sandwich is to die for and the dark side of beer cake’ with a wild cherry sauce isn’t too shabby either!

ประวัติคร่าวๆ เท่าที่รู้เกี่ยวกับตึกนี้คือ เมื่อประมาณ 100 ปีที่แล้วเคยเป็นที่ตั้งของธนาคาร Bank of China ก่อนจะกลายเป็นอาบอบนวดตั้งแต่ประมาณ 60 ปีที่แล้วจนถึงปัจจุบัน เป็นตึกมีสถาปัตยกรรมเก่าๆที่งดงามมีกลิ่นอายโคโลเนียล ตั้งบนถนนไมตรีจิต ใกล้เยาวราช ใจกลางกรุงเทพนั่นเอง
ภายในการตกแต่งที่เต็มไปด้วยของวินเทจและสัตว์สตัฟฟ์ เรื่องสไตล์การตกแต่ง เรียกว่า ‘วินเทจรีมิกซ์’ เพราะเป็นการรวมความวินเทจหลากหลายสไตล์ไว้ด้วยกัน มีทั้งของวินเทจจริงๆ และของใหม่ที่ออกแบบให้ดูเป็นวินเทจ เช่น เคาน์เตอร์ลงทะเบียนบริเวณทางเข้า ที่มองแทบไม่ออกว่าเป็นของใหม่ ส่วนสัตว์สตัฟฟ์หลายตัวที่ดูราวกับมีชีวิต สัตว์สตัฟฟ์และบางตัวก็เคยใช้เป็นพร็อปในการถ่ายแฟชั่นมาก่อน
The Mustang Blu มีพื้นที่ทั้งหมด 3 ชั้น ชั้นล่างเป็นล็อบบี้ และจุดทานอาหารเช้าของแขกที่เข้าพัก ส่วนชั้น 2-3 จะเป็นพื้นที่ของห้องพัก มี 2 ขนาดคือ 30 ตารางเมตร กับ 60 ตารางเมตร ราคาห้องพักเริ่มต้นที่ 3,500- 5,000 บาทต่อคืน มีลูกค้าทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติแวะเวียนเข้ามาพัก
ที่ชั้น 1 ของโรงแรมด้วยยังเป็นคาเฟ่สวยๆ คาเฟ่ที่มีกลิ่นอายความ Vintage เดินเข้าไปสัมผัสด้านในให้ความรู้สึกเหมือนอยู่ต่างประเทศ มีความสวยงามและน่าค้นหา ลวดลายที่ปรากฎอยู่ในจานชามและชุดกาแฟ ได้รับการออกแบบเป็นแนวยุโรป ของประดับตกแต่งอย่างสัตว์สตัฟฟ์เป็นเอกลักษณ์ บางตัวสำผัสได้ว่าเหมือนยังมีชีวิตจริง ภายในบริการอาการ และเครื่องดื่มเช่นชา กาแฟ เค้ก แซนวิช แต่ละอย่างตกแต่งอย่างงดงาม พร้อมเสิร์ฟ ให้บริการ ตั้งแต่เวลา จันทร์ – ศุกร์ 13.00 – 17.00 น.
