GranMonte Estate is uniquely located in Asoke Valley, Khao Yai and conveniently lies adjacent to Khao Yai National Park, approximately 160 kilometers from Bangkok. Asoke Valley is known in Thailand for its beautiful yellow blossoms special to the region of Khao Yai. The serene atmosphere and beautiful natural surroundings of Asoke Valley provide the perfect setting for the GranMonte Estate. The grandeur of Khao Yai mountain ranges has inspired the name “GranMonte”, which translates to “big mountain”.

At 350 metres above sea level and in a valley with a total area of 100 rai (approximately 40 acres), GranMonte has the ideal microclimate for growing high-quality grapes for winemaking in wet tropical region. The wine grapes produced on our arable land are of different varieties including Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Semillon, Verdelho, Durif and Grenache. Our table grapes come in many varieties with or without seeds, such as Muscat of Alexandria and Hamburg, Thomson, Perlette and Maroo seedless grapes.

Visooth & Sakuna Lohitnavy

GranMonte Vineyard is the story of a vision driven by Visooth Lohitnavy’s passion for wine. In 1999, a 12-hectare plot of land in the Northeast of Thailand, once a cornfield and cashew plantation, was about to realize its potential. It was here, nestled in the foothills of KhaoYai National Park, that Visooth settled with his wife, Sakuna and two young daughters, Nikki and Mimi. Soon, the land was cleared in preparation for his entrepreneurial pursuit. Little by little, Visooth studied vines and soil types, choosing the right varieties of vitis vinifera to discover those which would grow and yield fruit for the next generations.

“We at GranMonte work hard to earn our reputation and are fully committed to producing Thai wines of only the best quality and class. We use only the finest and freshest estate-grown produce, and our innovative winemaking techniques capture all the important aromas and tastes that set our products apart. Our viticulture and winemaking techniques are tailor-made to suit the soil and climate conditions particular to Thailand, leading to GranMonte’s unique and high-quality products which we dubbed “The best fruit of Thai soil, bottled.” We pride ourselves on our sustainable viticulture practices which are important in preserving our environment and ensuring health and safety of our workers, and are necessary for producing excellent quality wine grapes in our vineyard.”
