Kasikornbank Supports Hatai, Transforming the Former Narai Hotel Site into a New Silom Landmark

Narai Hospitality Group to Develop a New Destination Blending Hospitality, Lifestyle, Wellness and Green Space in the Heart of Silom

Kasikornbank (KBank) is providing financial support to Narai Hospitality Group to develop Hatai, a new landmark on the former site of the iconic Narai Hotel in Silom. Designed as a new urban destination that brings together hospitality, lifestyle, wellness and green space, Hatai will build on the longstanding connection between the Narai Hotel and the Silom community while creating a new destination for Bangkok. The project is expected to open in late 2027.

Thipakorn Saipattana, Deputy President of Kasikornbank, said: “Kasikornbank is pleased to provide financing to Narai Hospitality Group for the development of Hatai on the former site of the Narai Hotel, a property with a long history and deep connection to Silom Road.

“The project will help elevate Silom as a distinctive international destination, generate economic value and support the sustainable growth of Thailand’s tourism industry. It also reflects the long-term potential of Thailand’s hospitality and tourism sectors. KBank remains committed to serving as a financial partner in supporting investment that contributes to the development of the cities of the future.”

Natee Nithiwassin, Chief Executive Officer of Narai Hospitality Group, said: “Hatai is more than a return of the Narai Hotel. It is about creating a new space for Silom where people can come to relax, meet and share meaningful moments surrounded by nature, warm hospitality and diverse experiences.

“We believe Hatai will bring a new energy and dimension to Silom. We would also like to thank Kasikornbank for believing in our vision and supporting Hatai as we work to establish it as a new meeting point in the heart of the city.”

An Oasis in the City

Hatai is currently being developed on an approximately 11,000-square-metre site at the former location of the Narai Hotel. Designed to transform the Silom area while introducing more green space into the heart of Bangkok, the project is guided by the concept “An Oasis in the City.”

The design draws inspiration from Thai culture, including the traditional Thai lantern, symbolising hope and celebration, alongside forms and details inspired by Khon masks and Thai textile patterns. These elements are reinterpreted through distinctive contemporary architecture designed by Heatherwick Studio in collaboration with Thai designers.

The development brings together nature, culture and innovation, with the project targeting LEED Gold and WELL Gold certifications.

Hatai will feature two leading hotels: Six Senses Bangkok, with 101 rooms, and a newly reimagined Narai Hotel, which will join The Unbound Collection by Hyatt with 245 rooms.

The development will also offer more than 6,000 square metres of retail and community space, alongside a diverse culinary offering, wellness facilities and new spaces for socialising and gathering in the heart of Bangkok.

The project is currently welcoming retailers, restaurateurs and brand partners interested in becoming part of Hatai’s retail, dining and lifestyle offering and contributing to the creation of a new destination in Silom.
