UOB Art Space and UOB Painting of the Year give collectors and visitors two exhibitions to explore at the inaugural fair

UOB Thailand will present 20 works by 11 artists from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam at art bangkok 2026 – The First Chapter, taking place at Siam Paragon from 7 to 11 October 2026. As Lead Partner of the inaugural fair, the Bank will present the regional selection at UOB Art Space alongside an exhibition of works from the 17th UOB Painting of the Year competition in Thailand.
At NEX Hall, UOB Art Space: Championing Southeast Asian Art will offer visitors the opportunity to view and purchase works exploring cultural history, environmental change and the influence of technology on everyday life.

Among the artists is Indonesia’s Eddy Susanto, whose images are built from passages in traditional Javanese hanacaraka script. His practice connects Javanese narratives with European art history. The selection includes Kunjarakarna of Dante after Georg Pencz. His works have been exhibited internationally and are represented in Indonesia’s Presidential Museum collection.
Thai artist Pratchaya Charernsook uses ocean waste and microplastics to explore environmental change and what today’s discarded materials might reveal about our civilisation in the future. Her work The Confluence of Ping & Wang River is also included.

Singapore artist Lester Lee combines Eastern philosophy with imagery influenced by technology. His fragmented compositions incorporate “glitch” elements to reflect on how digital life shapes human experience.

At Art Jewel, the 17th UOB Painting of the Year Exhibition will present works selected through this year’s competition in Thailand, giving visitors a closer look at contemporary Thai art.
Ms Dhornratana Olanhankij, Country Head of Brand, Media and Communications, UOB Thailand, said “Art helps us understand our own communities and see the region through other people’s eyes. Ou presence across Southeast Asia gives us an opportunity to bring these different perspectives together. By supporting art Bangkok from its first edition, we want to contribute to Bangkok’s art community and build a lasting appreciation of the region’s artists and the experiences behind their work.”
Organised by the Thai Galleries Association and The Cloud, art bangkok 2026 will bring together more than 20 galleries from Thailand and abroad. UOB’s participation builds on its support for art through UOB Painting of the Year, established in Singapore in 1982 and now in its 45th edition, with the Thai competition in its 17th year. The fair runs from 7 to 11 October 2026 at NEX Hall and Art Jewel, 5th floor, Siam Paragon, with public admission from 8 October. Tickets are available through Zipevent.
UOB credit and debit cardholders can receive a THB 150 discount on admission tickets purchased through Zipevent when paying with a UOB Credit Card or UOB Debit Card and entering promotional code UOBABK. The offer is limited to 1,000 redemptions and is subject to terms and conditions.
