Bangkok, — Hyundai Mobility (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is reinforcing its position in the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) market with a major milestone: the launch of The new STARIA Hybrid, positioned as Thailand’s first and only 11-seat MPV with a hybrid powertrain. The model builds on STARIA’s established strengths in space, comfort, and versatility with a Turbo Hybrid powertrain that delivers both performance and fuel efficiency, along with a redesigned cabin and premium seats offering greater comfort for second- and third-row passengers. It is built to support every journey from family travel and long-distance trips to business use, backed by Hyundai SmartSense, an intelligent driving-assistance and safety suite with up to 15 systems. Under the slogan “11-Seater Hybrid. Ready for Every Mission,” the launch reflects Hyundai’s strategy of elevating the MPV market with a product that combines space, performance, efficiency, and versatility in a single vehicle.

Mr. Jae Gyou Chung, Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Mobility (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, “Over the past 30 years, Hyundai has built a strong customer base and market trust in Thailand’s MPV segment through the Hyundai H-1, a model embraced by both families and business owners for its space, versatility, and comfort. What we learned from the H-1 is that Thai customers value vehicles that are practical and adaptable to many aspects of life. We have carried this understanding forward into STARIA, continuing to listen to customer feedback on comfort, fuel efficiency, technology, and the ability to support an increasingly diverse range of uses.”
“The new STARIA Hybrid is therefore another important step in strengthening Hyundai’s position in the MPV market. It carries forward the qualities customers already know from STARIA Diesel — a spacious 11-seat cabin that delivers comfort and versatility, with Premium Comfort Seats and redesigned headrests for second- and third-row passengers — combined with a hybrid powertrain that offers strong performance without compromising fuel economy, Hyundai Bluelink technology that puts control of the car at your fingertips, and intelligent driving-assistance and safety technology. This means customers no longer have to choose between a vehicle that seats the whole family, one that’s comfortable to drive, or one that delivers greater value — because The new STARIA Hybrid brings all of these qualities together in a single vehicle, perfectly suited to family travel, long-distance trips, and business use alike.”
242-hp Turbo Hybrid: Performance Ready for Every Journey, With Fuel Efficiency of 17.2 km/l(1)
The new STARIA Hybrid raises the performance bar for large MPVs with a Turbo Hybrid powertrain that pairs a 1.6-liter T-GDI turbo gasoline engine, delivering up to 178 hp, with a 72-hp electric motor and a 1.49 kWh hybrid battery, for a combined output of up to 242 hp at 5,600 rpm and 367 Nm of torque from 1,000–4,100 rpm, sent to the front wheels. Torque delivered continuously from low revs helps the vehicle pull away and overtake with confidence, while comfortably handling trips with a full load of passengers and luggage — delivering the responsiveness and smoothness needed for both family use and business.
Beyond the performance expected of a large MPV, the hybrid system also improves fuel efficiency, achieving up to 17.2 km/l(1) under the NEDC(1) standard, helping every journey go further, more efficiently. The MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension strike a balance between stability and ride comfort, while electric power steering and ventilated disc brakes front and rear add confidence behind the wheel — making The new STARIA Hybrid ready for every mission from city driving to long-distance travel.
11 Seats, Loaded with Technology: A Smoother, More Confident Drive With e-Motion Drive
The new STARIA Hybrid stands out with a spacious cabin that seats up to 11 passengers, on a body measuring 5,253 mm long, 1,997 mm wide, and 1,990 mm tall, with a 3,273 mm wheelbase — creating room suited to large families, multi-generational travel, group trips, and business use. Everyday practicality is enhanced with Smart Power Sliding Doors on both sides for easier entry and exit, and a Smart Power Tailgate for more convenient luggage handling. Inside, the cabin also features dual-zone automatic climate control with separate front and rear settings, a sunshade for rear passengers, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, 4-point ISOFIX child-seat anchors, a Shift-by-Wire gear system, and an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold — bringing comfort to both driver and passengers on every journey. Meanwhile, 18-inch alloy wheels add stability and a more robust look.

On the technology front, The new STARIA Hybrid features a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with Hyundai Bluelink for connecting to and controlling the car via smartphone app. Convenience is further enhanced with 7 USB Type-C charging ports distributed throughout the cabin, plus a Surround View Monitor and front, side, and rear parking sensors that add confidence when maneuvering in tight spaces. Comfort and entertainment features such as a wireless charger and a premium BOSE sound system with 12 speakers elevate the in-cabin atmosphere for both daily driving and long-distance trips.
The new STARIA Hybrid also comes with e-Motion Drive, technology that coordinates the electric motor with the ECU to enhance ride comfort, handling precision, and vehicle stability. This is delivered through e-Ride, which reduces vibration and body roll; e-Handling, which improves cornering precision; e-EHA, which supports control during sudden avoidance maneuvers; and e-Traction, which improves grip and maintains vehicle stability — for a drive that is more stable and confident across a wide range of situations.
Hyundai SmartSense With 15 Systems: Because Every Mission Calls for Confidence
The new STARIA Hybrid comes equipped with Hyundai SmartSense, an intelligent driving-assistance and safety suite with up to 15 systems that add confidence for both driver and passengers across a wide range of situations — from city driving and long-distance travel to lane control, lane changes, and reversing. Key systems include Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (SCC), an adaptive cruise control system with stop-and-go functionality; Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), which warns of and helps automatically brake for potential collisions; Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning (FCA-JT), which helps reduce risk while turning through intersections; as well as Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and Lane Following Assist (LFA), which help keep the vehicle properly positioned within its lane.
All-around protection is further reinforced with Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), which warns of and helps steer away from vehicles in the blind spot; Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), which displays a view of the blind-spot area; and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), which warns of and automatically brakes for cross-traffic while reversing. These are joined by High Beam Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Manual Speed Limit Assist, and Rear Occupant Alert. The vehicle is also equipped with core safety systems including ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assist Control, Multi-Collision Braking, Crosswind Stability Control, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), adding stability and peace of mind on every journey.

Mr. Wallop Chalermvongsavej, Managing Director of Hyundai Mobility (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, “The launch of The new STARIA Hybrid comes from an understanding of customers who want a vehicle ready to support a wide range of uses to accomplish what matters to them each day. Our target customers are large, multi-generational families who can drive the happiness of every family member, all in a single vehicle. For a large, 11-seat MPV that has to carry both passengers and luggage, Hyundai is today offering a new option: a Turbo Hybrid powertrain that delivers confident response when pulling away and overtaking, while still providing smoothness in city driving and improved efficiency on long trips — making it well suited to both family and business use. We want the Hyundai new STARIA Hybrid to be Thailand’s first and only 11-seat hybrid that meets the needs of multi-generational families and diverse lifestyles, perfect for every mission — whether that’s a short trip, traveling with a full load of passengers, or continuous use throughout the day.”
“The key strength of The new STARIA Hybrid is that it frees customers from having to choose between versatility and efficiency. This vehicle delivers up to 242 hp and 367 Nm of torque, while still achieving fuel efficiency of up to 17.2 km/l(1). It also has a more modern, premium look, with a new exterior design highlighted by a redesigned grille and front bumper, along with Parametric Pixel LED taillights. Combined with Hyundai SmartSense’s 15 systems, a spacious cabin, Premium Comfort Seats, and newly designed headrests for greater comfort, plus features designed for passenger convenience, we believe The new STARIA Hybrid is ready to be the primary vehicle for both family and business, genuinely equipped for every mission.”
