Based on the findings, LG developed the new Bottom Freezer refrigerator model, the GN-V389FQEF, which comes with a full-length InstaView door that allows consumers to see the contents inside without opening the door—just by knocking twice. It also features innovations that address key consumer needs in Asia, particularly increasing the refrigerator space and reducing freezer space, with a 75:25 ratio between the refrigerator and freezer. This adjustment was made according to the survey which found that, following the pandemic, bulk purchasing became a normal behavior, and consumers now seek refrigerators with more space for fresh food while reducing the size of the freezer.

The popularity of Bottom Freezer refrigerators has also risen in the Asian market, as moving the refrigerator compartment to the top and placing the freezer at the bottom makes it more convenient for users. The freezer section is also more organized with better compartmentalization.
