We’re almost there! Fans of rugby around the globe will be viewing the up-coming Rugby World Cup with eager anticipation.

The first match kicks off on Friday, September 20 and it sees hosts Japan take on Russia.

Admittedly, it’s not a mouth-watering clash, but it doesn’t take long for the excitement to really mount. For example, the following day sees the holders, New Zealand’s All Blacks, take on previous winners, the Springboks of South Africa.

Who will lift the trophy on Saturday, November 2?

It’s difficult to look outside the current top six which is: 1 Wales; 2 New Zealand; 3 England; 4 Ireland; 5 South Africa; and 6 Australia.

Following those are Scotland (7) and France (8) who are capable of providing upsets, but we think that’s about the height of their ambitions.

The opening match, like the rest of the games, is on TV at a sensible time – 5.45pm (Thai time) and Murphy’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, Soi Khao Noi is REm’s recommendation to catch every game live and loud on one of there many large screens.

The fact that host country Japan is only two hours ahead of Thailand helps.

Remember soccer world cup games at ungodly hours in the early morning when they are staged on the other side of the world?

Murphy’s Khao Noi (Darkside) will be showing all the action as it happens, the family-friendly sports pub & restaurant – complete with swimming pool – has an extensive menu of both Thai & International cuisine (all your pub favourites), draft beers including the best pint of Guinness in Pattaya, you name it and they have it!

See you there!
