The first show of Maison JE Bangkok is ‘Disney Collection by Satoru Kozumi’ the collaboration of Maison JE, Disney, and APPortfolio, an esteemed art platform under ARTOX GROUP,with a focus on developing and distributing limited-edition artwork and original artwork by renowned artists and designers across Asia with some notable artists featured on the platform include Kenny Scharf, Daniel Arsham, Nobuyoshi Araki, Felipe Pantone, André Saraiva, Takeru Amano, and many more.
This extraordinary exhibition showcases the visionary artistry of Satoru Kozumi, a renowned artist known for his captivating wood carvings. His sculptures have been active in many international art fairs and exhibitions. His animal figure-antelope wood carvings set a transaction price of NT$3.6 million at the 2021 auction. Meticulously crafted using Satoru Kozumi’s distinctive wooden carvings sculpting techniques, these artworks beautifully capture the unique traits and essence of each beloved Disney character. Limited to a mere 300 pieces worldwide, these collectibles stand as coveted treasures.
A highlight without precedent, “A Large Sculpture of Disney Series” with a height of 150 centimeters of Mickey by Satoru Koizumi sculpture graced Maison JE Bangkok exclusively. With a global edition limited to just eight pieces, these sculptures swiftly vanished into collectors’ hands from Bangkok to Taiwan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and China.
