Reimagining Bird’s Nest and Chinese Herbal Ingredients for the Modern Urban Lifestyle

As wellness evolves from a health trend into an increasingly integral part of everyday life, food, beverages and desserts are becoming more than matters of taste. They are also ways for consumers to express how they care for themselves every day.
Recognising this shift, Eatery Co., Ltd., under the Claypot King group, has launched WOO, a new brand that brings the concept of “Modern Chinese Wellness” to life. WOO reinterprets Chinese culture through tea, traditional Chinese herbs, bird’s nest and other heritage ingredients, transforming them into contemporary beverages and desserts designed to fit naturally into the lifestyles of a new generation.
Positioned as an “Oriental Tea & Dessert” brand, WOO aims to create a connection between Chinese culture and modern consumer lifestyles under the concept “Modern Chinese Wellness – Made for how we live today.” The brand will build awareness through its first pop-up store at Central EastVille, opening from 24 September 2026, ahead of the launch of its first full-scale store in early 2027.
From Traditional Chinese Wellness to Modern Chinese Wellness

According to Thanyaporn Jatisathian, WOO Brand Executive, consumers today increasingly view wellness not simply as something to address when health concerns arise, but as a choice that can be incorporated into everyday routines. At the same time, they are paying greater attention to ingredients, the stories behind products and the overall experience a brand offers.
“We are not looking to bring traditional Chinese dishes back in their original form. Instead, we want to explore how ingredients and flavours with rich cultural stories can naturally become part of the everyday lives of a new generation. For WOO, wellness does not have to exist only in the form of health products. It can be found in the small choices consumers make every day – from a single drink to a bowl of dessert. We therefore take the cultural roots of tea, Chinese herbs and bird’s nest and reinterpret them in a contemporary and accessible way, while preserving the stories and unique qualities of these ingredients.”
WOO – Where Chinese Heritage Meets a New Perspective

The name “WOO” is inspired by the Chinese character “吴”, one of the common Chinese surnames, pronounced similarly to “Wu” in the Teochew dialect. In English, “woo” can also express excitement, delight or a sense of pleasant surprise.
These two meanings reflect the brand’s identity: bringing elements and stories from Chinese culture together with a fresh perspective, creating a sense of discovery each time consumers experience the brand.
With this philosophy, WOO is not simply bringing traditional Chinese menu items back to the market. Instead, it aims to create an “Everyday Experience” that allows tea, Chinese herbs, bird’s nest and other ingredients rooted in Chinese culture to become a natural part of contemporary daily life.
From Tea & Refreshment to Modern Bird’s Nest and Oriental Desserts

WOO expresses its Modern Chinese Wellness philosophy through three core product categories: Tea & Refreshment, Modern Bird’s Nest and Oriental Desserts. Each category combines carefully selected ingredients and flavours rooted in Chinese culture with contemporary formats that are accessible and easy to incorporate into everyday lifestyles.
Tea & Refreshment presents beverages inspired by the distinctive qualities of tea and Chinese herbs, reimagined for everyday enjoyment. Highlights include Chrysanthemum Tea, showcasing the delicate floral aroma of chrysanthemum, and Luo Han Guo Herbal Tea, which combines monk fruit with Chinese herbs to create a refreshing and easy-to-drink beverage, alongside a selection of other Chinese teas.
Modern Bird’s Nest reinterprets bird’s nest, an ingredient deeply associated with Chinese culture, for the contemporary lifestyle. The range includes Signature Bird’s Nest Drink, WOO’s own slow-cooked bird’s nest beverage served in a convenient format, as well as Artisanal Bird’s Nest Jelly, which transforms bird’s nest into a modern dessert with a delicate, translucent jelly texture.
Oriental Desserts draws inspiration from Eastern flavours and ingredients through creations including Soft Serve and Artisanal Cake, complemented by rotating Seasonal Specialties that introduce new flavours and experiences throughout the year.
Connecting Traditional and New-Generation Wellness

WOO primarily targets urban professionals aged 25–40, with medium to high purchasing power and an interest in food, beverages, wellness and lifestyle. The brand also appeals to consumers aged 40–60, who are familiar with traditional Chinese ingredients and flavours and place importance on product quality and trust.
By bringing these two generations together, WOO aims to create a bridge between Traditional Chinese Wellness and New-Generation Wellness, combining the familiarity of heritage ingredients with the needs of contemporary consumers – from convenience and modern presentation to new and engaging brand experiences.
“WOO will make its debut through its first pop-up store at Central EastVille from 24 September 2026, giving consumers the opportunity to experience the brand first-hand through Tea & Refreshment, Modern Bird’s Nest and Oriental Desserts, together with a store environment that reflects WOO’s identity. We plan to open our first full-scale store in early 2027, focusing on high-potential locations that provide access to urban consumers, including office buildings, shopping centres and business districts. We will also continue developing our store formats, menus and products to meet both everyday consumption occasions and special moments.”
“We want WOO to be more than a beverage and dessert brand. We want it to be a space where consumers can rediscover familiar flavours and ingredients in new forms, while giving a new generation the opportunity to discover Chinese food and beverage culture through experiences that feel contemporary and accessible,” Thanyaporn concluded.
