“KAWS: HOLIDAY THAILAND” Comes to Thailand for the First Time! TAT Invites All to Experience World-Class Art at an Iconic Landmark – May 13 to 25, 2025, at Sanam Luang, Bangkok
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is invigorating the travel scene by supporting the monumental art exhibition “KAWS: HOLIDAY THAILAND”, offering an up-close experience of world-renowned artwork. Visitors will encounter the iconic COMPANION masterpiece by world-famous artist Mr. Brian Donnelly, known as KAWS—a colossal 18-meter-tall sculpture making its debut in Thailand, set against the historic backdrop of Sanam Luang, Bangkok, from May 13 to 25, 2025.

TAT believes that the exclusivity of this exhibition will add color, inspiration, and value to the Thai tourism experience, creating unforgettable memories and encouraging extended journeys to nearby destinations.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, stated that the organization is proud to co-host this special international exhibition in partnership with AllRightsReserved, Central Embassy, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and other leading collaborators. The “KAWS: HOLIDAY THAILAND” event, taking place at Sanam Luang, is part of the grand celebration of Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025.

This initiative leverages art as a powerful promotional tool—enhancing the appeal of tourist destinations in Thailand and catering to a diverse range of travelers, while delivering meaningful and memorable experiences for global visitors. It also aligns with Thailand’s goal of becoming a world-class event hub across all sectors.
The exhibition not only elevates Thailand’s position as a global destination but also reflects its welcoming spirit for international art, fostering connections among people from around the world. It also presents a unique opportunity to showcase Sanam Luang—a culturally significant and historic landmark—transforming it into an open-air canvas for a contemporary masterpiece that symbolizes the fusion of heritage and creativity. Visitors can also craft meaningful travel routes around Rattanakosin Island and Thonburi, further enriching their journey in Bangkok.

For this event, KAWS has created a massive 18-meter-tall COMPANION sculpture, gently cradling the moon while seated on Earth, with a smaller COMPANION resting peacefully on its lap. Sanam Luang represents the center of all things, and this setting becomes a metaphor for the harmony of the universe—highlighting the interconnectedness of all beings and the timeless flow of wisdom from generation to generation. Its location, adjacent to the Grand Palace, reinforces the blend of traditional Thai customs with modern creativity.

The Thailand exhibition follows previous showings in Indonesia and Shanghai, China, as part of KAWS’s global art tour.
The exclusive KAWS: HOLIDAY THAILAND limited-edition collection will be available for public viewing free of charge from May 13 to 25, 2025, at Sanam Luang, Bangkok, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
