Proving “Walk the Talk” in Sustainability – Tourism as a Force for Communities and the Environment

Khiri Travel, a leading destination management company (DMC) in Asia, has announced a major milestone in its sustainability journey: achieving Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) certification across all eight countries where it operates – Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka.

The official certification was awarded on December 18, 2025, following a thorough audit by Control Union, which evaluated Khiri Travel’s operational and management systems, service delivery, and interviews with local partners and suppliers.

According to GSTC, “Certification by an approved body confirms that your tourism products or services meet the highest social and environmental standards in the market. Certified businesses provide customers and buyers with confidence that their operations have been evaluated through a reliable, transparent, independent, and competent process.”

Team-Driven Success
In 2025, 14 Khiri Travel staff members, including the ‘Green Team’ from eight Asian countries, earned the GSTC Professional Certificate in Sustainable Tourism, reflecting the company’s commitment to becoming a fully GSTC-certified DMC by the end of 2025.
