Remember when your house or condo was a place for part of your life?

Much of the day was spent at the office, in the car, seeing clients, at the gym maybe a sauna or in a bar 😊

Well, COVID has changed all that!

It seems now all we do, whether that be socializing, exercising and working is done from home.

With that being said 2021’s Interior Design Trend is transforming your space, making it more multifunctional, with an emphasis on work, education, entertainment, and hospitality.

The word COMFORT seems to be on most interior designers’ lips… Comfort over Concept and making your house/condo a sanctuary on every level.

So here are a few of the trends that have emerged from all these days spent at home.

Cozy, Comfortable, Relaxed

Old school is coming back, but this time with a focus on comfort and functional space.

The idea of cozy home furniture should generally start and end with one main objective – comfort.

The 2021 home decor trends include the introduction of softer curves, comfortable sofas, and overstuffed furniture.

2021 has an old school vibe and a lived-in look and to achieve that means ditching fussed-over for the informal.

Think about contrasting styles and eras.

Increased Seating

Spending more time at home encourages a more multipurpose living area, seating areas for reading and relaxing will allowing family and friends to still be together in the same room no matter what activities they’re pursuing.

Bringing Outside-Inside

“Not only do indoor plants enhance the overall appearance of a space, but they’ve been shown to boost moods, increase creativity, reduce stress, and eliminate air pollutants — making for a healthier, happier you.”

There’s a good chance your condo in the city lacks access to trees, plants, and nature as a whole. To bring a little bit of country into your city condo, invest in plants for your balcony.

Your home will be a plant paradise before you know it.

Eco-friendliness

Another important feature this year will be the focus on sustainability.

Forget chairs and tables made from plastic moulding. To make your home interior eco-friendly, you need furniture made from natural wood and other organic or sustainable materials

Buying second hand while paying attention to the sourcing of the materials in the design is a key 2021 trend.
