Emirates has been named the “Best Airline in the World” in the latest in-depth and systematic study by Telegraph Travel, which compared 90 airlines worldwide. The detailed rankings and ratings were calculated based on over 30 criteria, including on-time performance, baggage allowance, route network, airport quality, fleet age, the value of loyalty programs, and the quality of in-flight meals. The study also referenced data from more than 18 independent awards and international accolades, as well as surveys from readers, ranking websites, and expert reviews.
The study deemed Emirates a “deserving winner,” highlighting that the airline “meets all aspects, from baggage weight limits to punctuality. Additionally, Emirates operates the most Airbus A380 aircraft, which is a favorite among passengers due to its spaciousness and comfortable legroom in all classes, even in economy.” The article further added, “Emirates’ premium economy cabin on the Airbus A380 is considered the best in the aviation industry. Meanwhile, the business class consistently maintains excellent standards without disappointing passengers, offering a rare airport transfer service. First class features the highest quality wine selection among all airlines, along with shower facilities. At the same time, Emirates’ route network is vast, serving over 140 cities in 77 countries. Emirates was also voted the best long-haul airline in the world by 30,000 Telegraph Travel readers.”
This independent study covered 90 airlines, selected based on annual passenger traffic, and scored each airline’s performance across various criteria such as reliability, connectivity, baggage policies, in-flight experience, fleet age, primary airport quality, loyalty program value, safety, reputation, and lounge quality. It also included surveys and rankings from sources such as APEX, Airline Ratings, Skytrax, TrustPilot, and others. Detailed results of the study can be found here.
In 2024, Emirates also received an additional 19 awards and recognitions from various sources around the world, including 7 awards at the Skytrax World Airline Awards in June, for Best In-Flight Entertainment, Best First-Class Seat Amenities, Best First-Class Airline in the Middle East, Best First-Class Catering in the Middle East, Best Family-Friendly Airline in the Middle East, Best Premium Economy in the Middle East, and Best Premium Economy Catering in the Middle East.
