This key visual interprets the architectural forms that have emerged in Thailand over the past 90 years. The aim is to present the beauty of architecture as a living culture, shaped by the ideas and influences that have molded society during each era. This includes the differences in styles, the changes in ideologies, and the unique cultural characteristics of each period. This blending leads to a connection between the past, present, and future, offering a fresh perspective to explore the “direction” that can drive architecture to engage people of all ages. By incorporating graphic elements from contemporary architecture of each era, these elements are distilled and highlighted through a creative process that transforms them into character designs with an art toy aesthetic. These designs are inspired by modern Thai architecture.
These character designs not only reflect the uniqueness and details of the architecture from each period but also serve as a bridge connecting pop culture with modern art, creating tangible meanings that are both physical and easily understood by the general public. “Past Present Perfect” is a reevaluation of the past through a present-day lens, seeking possibilities for the future and paving the way for a new dialogue between art, architecture, and living culture across time.
