Amata Spring Country Club Unveils Newly Redesigned Floating Green on Hole 17
Under the Concept “An Icon Reimagined,” Reinforcing Championship-Level Standards

Amata Spring Country Club, one of Asia’s leading championship golf courses, has officially unveiled the newly redesigned floating green on Hole 17—its signature hole—under the concept “Amata Spring 17th – An Icon Reimagined.” This redevelopment reflects the club’s continuous commitment to maintaining and enhancing course standards, while reinforcing its status as a world-class golf destination in Thailand.
The floating green on Hole 17 is one of the club’s most iconic features and is widely recognized as one of the most remarkable floating greens in Asia. This latest renovation marks the third reconstruction of the floating green in over 21 years of the club’s history. The redesign draws inspiration from the renowned island green at TPC Sawgrass in the United States.

The concept “An Icon Reimagined” represents the reinterpretation and enhancement of Hole 17—an iconic symbol of the course through improvements in green structure, surface quality, and overall playing experience. The goal is to preserve the charm and challenge of this signature hole while elevating course standards to meet the expectations of modern golfers.

Mr. Isara Vongkusolkit, Chief Executive Officer of Amata Spring Country Club, stated:
“Hole 17 is an iconic feature of Amata Spring Country Club and one that golfers from around the world remember. This renovation is not merely an upgrade of course elements, but a continuation and elevation of the club’s identity. Under the concept ‘An Icon Reimagined,’ we aim to uphold championship-level standards while enhancing the overall golfing experience for both members and international visitors.”
Over the past two decades, Amata Spring Country Club has gained international recognition and has hosted several prestigious global tournaments, including the Thailand Golf Championship, The Royal Trophy, and the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship. Many world-class golfers and major champions have competed at this course.

In addition to the redesign of the floating green on Hole 17, the club has also upgraded greens across the entire course by replacing Paspalum grass with TifEagle Bermuda grass widely used in championship golf courses worldwide. This grass variety offers faster and more consistent green speeds, smoother surfaces, improved disease resistance, and excellent adaptability to hot climates.
This renovation reflects Amata Spring Country Club’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and elevating course standards, ensuring that members and golfers enjoy a premium golfing experience with every visit. It further reinforces the club’s position as one of the most important championship golf courses in Thailand and the Asia region.
