Maserati GT2 Stradale and MCPURA Selected as Safety Car and Leading Car for the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Season Opener at Circuit Paul Ricard

Maserati has once again been appointed as the Official Car Supplier for the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS for the 2026 season, continuing its collaboration with SRO Motorsports Group following the success of last year’s partnership.
For the new season, the Maserati GT2 Stradale will serve as the Official Safety Car, while the Maserati MCPURA takes on the role of Leading Car for the championship’s opening race at Circuit Paul Ricard in France. The partnership highlights Maserati’s strategic commitment and its long-standing connection to the world of closed-wheel motorsport.

Celebrating Maserati’s Racing DNA
Vincent Beer, Head of Maserati Corse, said:
“We are extremely proud that Maserati Corse has once again been entrusted as the Official Car Supplier for the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS season. This partnership perfectly reflects Maserati’s DNA: ‘from the road to the track and back again.’
This philosophy has always guided the development of our high-performance sports cars. Deploying the GT2 Stradale as the Safety Car and the MCPURA as the Leading Car represents the clearest expression of our vision—combining cutting-edge technology, benchmark performance, and unmistakable design.
The success we achieved in the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli has led to an extended commitment for the 2026 season, with an even larger number of race cars competing.
We look forward to this season with ambition and determination, honoring Maserati’s first 100 years of racing heritage. By bringing the Maserati GT2 to the track and confirming our participation in the new SRO GT Academy project, we are ready for an exciting season filled with fierce competition and the proud spirit of Maserati on the racetrack.”

Continued Partnership with SRO Motorsports Group
Stéphane Ratel, Founder and CEO of SRO Motorsports Group, added:
“We are delighted that Maserati continues to support the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS as the provider of the Safety Car and Leading Car for this season. Whether on the road or the racetrack, the Trident brand represents speed, style, and outstanding engineering.
Last year, the Maserati GT2 Stradale performed exceptionally well as the Safety Car, and I look forward to seeing the MCPURA lead the field for the first race at Circuit Paul Ricard.”
High-Performance Machines Leading the Grid
The Maserati GT2 Stradale, the road-going version of the GT2 race car, returns as the championship’s official Safety Car. It is powered by Maserati’s Nettuno 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering remarkable performance with 0–100 km/h acceleration in just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 324 km/h.
Meanwhile, the MCPURA will make its debut in the role of Leading Car, guiding the race grid for the first time.
Both vehicles feature exclusive liveries designed specifically for the 2026 racing season, incorporating Maserati’s signature colors of blue and white. The Safety Car is finished in blue with white detailing, while the Leading Car features a white body with a large blue Trident logo on the hood.
