During Milan Design Week 2026 Loro Piana presents Studies, Chapter I: On the Plaid, a compelling installation at Cortile della Seta, Loro Piana’s Milan headquarters.
The event runs from April 21-26, 2026, and is open to the public.

This first chapter in Studies – an evolving framework for case studies focused on interior design – is devoted to the plaid, one of the Maison’s signature products since the 1980s and an ideal medium for experimentation to explore its exceptional materials and textile expertise.
The scenography is structured as a passage, presenting twenty-three unique plaids, each mapping a precise combination of fibers, techniques and constructions. Together, they form a creative index, exploring a range of approaches around a single object and the precision emblematic of Loro Piana’s practice.

The Maison’s signature fibers and yarns dialogue with finished pieces, exploring the processes that transform them. Vicuña, Baby Cashmere, The Gift of Kings® and innovative materials illustrate Loro Piana’s incomparable fabrics excellence, while its rich spectrum of techniques includes embroidery, handloom weaving and patchwork.
Crafted exclusively on request, each plaid is approached like couture, bridging heritage, innovation and a culture of sublime materials.
