Range Rover Electric joins the Range Rover family as the brand’s first all-electric model

The iconic luxury SUV is now available with an all-electric powertrain, marking a new era of refinement and enhanced capability. The first-ever electric Range Rover is being built at Solihull, the birthplace of Range Rover since 1970, representing a significant milestone in the brand’s history.
Range Rover Electric is quieter, delivers more natural performance, responds more instantaneously and offers the highest torque ever seen in a Range Rover. Its peerless design is combined with exceptional refinement and striking modernity.
The electric powertrain enhances the defining characteristics of Range Rover – natural performance, timeless luxury and uncompromised capability – while significantly reducing cabin noise. The electric system is seamlessly integrated into a flexible architecture designed from the outset to accommodate electrification.

Range Rover Electric is equipped with dual 260 kW permanent-magnet electric motors, delivering up to 550 PS and 850 Nm of torque. With a range of up to approximately 600 kilometres under WLTP¹ and up to 535 kilometres in real-world driving⁵, most Range Rover customers will be able to complete their daily journeys without needing to recharge along the way.

New technologies provide precise vehicle control across every environment, including Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD), which can distribute torque to the rear wheels from 100% down to 0% to help prevent loss of traction.

Integrated Traction Management (ITM) controls motor speed within 50 milliseconds and manages wheel slip up to 100 times faster than an equivalent ICE vehicle. Working in conjunction with the new Single Pedal mode, ITM provides exceptional control, enabling smooth launches on gradients of up to 33 degrees – equivalent to a black-diamond ski slope – or the ability to climb gradients of up to 45 degrees with momentum.

When charging away from home, Range Rover Electric can charge from 10 to 80% in approximately 22 minutes, or add up to 220 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes (WLTP), using the fastest available 350 kW public DC rapid charger when the vehicle is able to accept its maximum charging rate.
The first-ever electric Range Rover is powered by a 118.5 kWh usable-capacity double-stacked lithium-ion battery, comprising 344 prismatic cells for exceptional energy density. An advanced 800-volt architecture enables fast, flexible and efficient charging.

The dual 260 kW permanent-magnet electric motors deliver 20% more torque than motors of the same size and use silicon-carbide semiconductors capable of microsecond-level switching speeds. This helps balance efficiency with outstanding performance across all surfaces.
Range Rover Electric can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and from 80–121 km/h in just 2.7 seconds².
PROVEN INNOVATION
Range Rover Electric has undergone an intensive global testing and development programme, both virtually and physically, to deliver the authentic Range Rover experience. Testing has taken place everywhere from temperatures as low as -40°C in Arjeplog, Sweden, and the extreme heat of the Dubai desert, to JLR’s Eastnor Castle testing facility in the UK.
The programme has covered more than 1.5 million kilometres and more than 250,000 hours of testing across both virtual and real-world environments.
New technologies maximise the potential of the electric powertrain, including intelligent range prediction and the advanced ThermAssist™ thermal management system. These technologies optimise driving range, charging speed, battery longevity and performance in extreme temperatures, while providing up to 40 kilometres of additional range and reducing energy consumption for heating by 40%.

More than 300 patent applications have been filed for Range Rover Electric – the highest number for a single vehicle programme in the brand’s history.
To further enhance battery safety and quality, JLR’s new battery testing laboratory subjects production-intent batteries to severe multi-axis vibration and impact testing across temperatures ranging from -40°C to +90°C.
Combined with a high-strength aluminium structure, Range Rover Electric is engineered to withstand significant impacts and vibration, while advanced safety features exceed industry standards.
For ease of servicing and maintenance, every Range Rover Electric is equipped with a Battery Digital Twin, providing more than 900 diagnostic data points. Working alongside JLR’s leading Software Over the Air⁶ technology, this enables Range Rover to proactively monitor and maintain customers’ vehicles.
The advanced electric powertrain in Range Rover Electric is covered by an eight-year or 160,000-kilometre warranty, whichever comes first⁷.
BUILT IN SOLIHULL, UK
To support production of Range Rover Electric, JLR has transformed its Solihull manufacturing facility by combining advanced manufacturing capabilities, digital technologies and significant investment in electrification skills.
Some 9,000 production employees at Solihull have already been upskilled in electrification, alongside a further 1,500 employees across JLR’s wider network in the West Midlands.

“Range Rover creates significant value across the UK and Europe. Production at Solihull supports thousands of businesses, with more than two-thirds of supplier expenditure going directly to suppliers in the UK and Europe.”
JLR’s wider manufacturing network, including the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton⁸, will support production of Range Rover Electric. The facility currently manufactures battery packs and electric drive units alongside internal combustion engines, making it the UK’s largest combined manufacturing facility for internal combustion engines and electric propulsion systems.
The first phase of the transformation covered 40,000 square metres and required more than two million hours of planning, engineering, construction and preparation over four years.

The transformation has added 13 battery and electric drive unit production lines, supported by 9 kilometres of conveyors and 182 kilometres of electrical and data cabling – longer than the River Thames.
Advanced AI-powered scanning cameras have been integrated into the quality inspection process during Electric Drive Unit production, ensuring that critical components are assembled with complete precision and meet the exacting standards of Range Rover Electric.
In addition, every battery cell is performance-tested before being assembled into a battery pack. Each completed pack then undergoes further checks for assembly integrity and performance before being installed into Range Rover Electric at Solihull.

Orders for Range Rover Electric are now open, with customers able to choose between standard-wheelbase and long-wheelbase⁹ configurations in Autobiography, as well as SV, SV Ultra and SV Black³ models.

A carefully curated First Edition is also available in Belgravia Green, Santorini Black or Varesine Blue, paired with a Light Cloud interior featuring Ultrafabrics™ PU and the newly introduced Kvadrat™ material.
