Bangkok’s creative scene is buzzing once again with the launch of Lost in DOMLAND, an immersive art exhibition by beloved Thai comedian, artist, and storyteller Udom Taephanich. Best known for his stand-up shows under the “Deaw” brand, Udom now invites fans and newcomers alike to step into a universe entirely of his own imagination.

Lost in DOMLAND runs from June 7 to August 3, 2025, at The Pinnacle Hall, 8th Floor of ICONSIAM, offering an enormous exhibition space equivalent to a football field—set almost 40 meters below the level of the Chao Phraya River.
Over 1,000 Pieces of Art, 100% Udom
This ambitious exhibit features more than 1,000 original pieces created by Udom himself, showcasing his journey through painting, sketching, sculpting, and installations. With no external art direction, the entire exhibition stems directly from Udom’s mind, making it a deeply personal and unique experience.
But Lost in DOMLAND isn’t just about viewing art—it’s an invitation to reconnect with your inner child. Visitors are encouraged to wander, explore, and even play, just like they would in a dreamscape or fantasy land. It’s a creative escape designed to reawaken imagination and joy.

Udom Taephanich: From Stand-Up Legend to Creative Visionary
For over two decades, Udom Taephanich has been a household name in Thailand. Best known as the mastermind behind the immensely popular “Deaw” one-man comedy shows, Udom is more than just a comedian—he’s a storyteller, satirist, cultural commentator, and now, a burgeoning visual artist. His transition into the art world has surprised many, but it is, in many ways, a natural extension of his lifelong dedication to creativity and expression.

The Rise of a Thai Comedy Icon
Born in 1968, Udom began his career in television and stage performance, quickly developing a unique style of observational comedy that resonated with Thai audiences. His “Deaw” series—starting with Deaw 1 in the mid-1990s—blended humor, introspection, and social commentary. Each show tackled themes ranging from relationships to Thai identity, family dynamics, politics, and human quirks, earning him acclaim for both wit and wisdom.
Over the years, Udom’s clean, clever humor and his ability to connect across generations turned him into a cultural icon. With each installment of Deaw, he not only entertained but also gave voice to the everyday thoughts and struggles of ordinary Thais.

Turning the Page: From Stage to Canvas
Now in his mid-50s, Udom is embracing a new creative chapter: visual art. While his shift from comedy to art might seem unexpected, it is consistent with his desire to explore the human condition through different lenses.
In 2025, he launched “Lost in DOMLAND”, a massive solo art exhibition held at ICONSIAM’s Pinnacle Hall in Bangkok.
Why Art?
Udom has described his foray into art as a return to play, creativity, and self-reflection. Unlike the fast-paced rhythm of stand-up, art allows for quiet introspection, spontaneity, and visual storytelling. “In comedy, I talked about what I observed. In art, I draw what I feel,” he once noted in an interview. The result is work that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable.
His art, much like his comedy, is accessible—inviting people to laugh, reflect, and dream. And while it may lack the punchlines of Deaw, it offers something just as powerful: emotion, vulnerability, and imagination.

A New Lens on a Familiar Voice
Udom Taephanich’s journey from stage to gallery highlights the evolving landscape of Thai creativity. As audiences embrace more diverse expressions of art and culture, Udom continues to lead—not by repeating old formulas, but by reinventing himself with authenticity.
Whether on stage or through brushstrokes, Udom reminds us that creativity has no limits, and that the most enduring artists are those who keep surprising even themselves.

Udom, who has long balanced wit, humor, and heartfelt storytelling, now channels his energy into this imaginative space. Lost in DOMLAND represents a new dimension of his creativity, offering something deeper than laughter—offering wonder.
