Inviting Travelers to Experience the City’s Authentic Spirit Through One-of-a-Kind Moments

HONG KONG – The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has unveiled its new global tourism campaign, “Only in Hong Kong,” designed to showcase a fresh perspective on the city while reinforcing its position as Asia’s World City. The campaign invites travelers to look beyond conventional sightseeing and discover the authentic experiences, vibrant culture and unmistakable character that can only be found in Hong Kong.
Moving away from traditional destination marketing, “Only in Hong Kong” encourages visitors to experience the city with both curiosity and emotion, transforming everyday moments into unforgettable memories through the unique spirit that defines Hong Kong.
A City to Be Experienced, Not Just Visited

The campaign celebrates Hong Kong’s remarkable diversity—from the energy of its iconic skyline to its tranquil natural landscapes. Visitors are invited to explore a wide range of experiences, including riding the historic Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour, hiking scenic mountain trails, visiting the world-class Kai Tak Stadium, wandering through vibrant local neighborhoods, discovering the cultural tradition of mahjong, relaxing on secluded beaches, and enjoying internationally acclaimed hotels, restaurants and bars.
Each experience highlights a different facet of the city, coming together to create moments that are truly “Only in Hong Kong.”
Rather than relying on idealized tourism imagery, the campaign embraces authentic storytelling, capturing the city’s genuine atmosphere and everyday charm to present Hong Kong as it truly is.
Built Around Hong Kong’s Four Defining DNA

At the heart of the campaign are four core characteristics that define Hong Kong’s identity:
- Variety
- Vibrancy
- Contrast
- World-class Excellence
These pillars are reflected throughout the campaign’s distinctive visual identity, including a custom palette of 16 signature colors inspired by iconic symbols and everyday elements unique to Hong Kong.
Among the colors are Dukling Red, inspired by the city’s historic Chinese junk boats; Bauhinia Pink, reflecting Hong Kong’s official flower; Ding Ding Green, celebrating the city’s century-old double-decker trams; Island Azure, inspired by Hong Kong’s extensive coastline; Neon Green, symbolizing the city’s dynamic energy; Skyline Blue, echoing Victoria Harbour’s famous skyline; and Panda Black & White, inspired by Hong Kong’s beloved panda twins.
A Visual Identity Inspired by Heritage and Modernity

The campaign’s distinctive wordmark combines the glow of Hong Kong’s iconic neon lights with the traditional form of a Chinese signature seal, symbolizing the city’s unique blend of cultural heritage and contemporary urban energy.
Accompanied by the tagline “Asia’s World City,” the identity reinforces Hong Kong’s role as an international gateway where Eastern and Western cultures meet in extraordinary ways.
Capturing Hong Kong’s Playful Personality
The campaign embraces Hong Kong’s lively and optimistic character through playful, witty messaging that reflects the city’s energy and sense of humor.
Creative expressions such as “Here, every day is an event” and “It’s where East meets best” convey the idea that even ordinary moments in Hong Kong are filled with excitement, inviting travelers to experience the city’s vibrant personality for themselves.
A Platform for the Entire Tourism Industry
More than a marketing campaign, “Only in Hong Kong” serves as a collaborative platform that encourages tourism stakeholders across the city to share Hong Kong’s stories with creativity and pride.
HKTB extends its appreciation to partners across the tourism ecosystem—including hotels, restaurants, retailers, event organizers, airlines and related industries—for supporting the campaign through promotional platforms and marketing initiatives that will amplify its reach worldwide.
Through this collective effort, HKTB aims to inspire more international travelers to visit Hong Kong, stimulate tourism spending and encourage repeat visitation by showcasing the city’s authentic experiences.
Global Rollout Across 22 Markets

The “Only in Hong Kong” campaign will be rolled out in phases, beginning with digital and social media platforms before expanding to international and regional television, local media and out-of-home advertising across 22 key global source markets.
As part of the campaign, HKTB will also invite influencers and media representatives from Mainland China and international markets to experience Hong Kong firsthand and share authentic stories that showcase the city’s distinctive appeal.
