LPGA Impressed by Honda LPGA Thailand’s Unstoppable Growth, Packed with Fans, with 50,165 Attendees, and Continuing to Foster Golf Development in Thailand Toward Global Recognition

The LPGA Tour, as the world’s premier women’s professional golf organization, has expressed its admiration for the management and continued growth of the Honda LPGA Thailand. The LPGA hopes to continue its long-term partnership to develop Thai golfers and elevate the Thai golf industry to the global stage.
The Honda LPGA Thailand is the first and only LPGA Tour event held in Thailand. This year marks its 18th edition, making it the second-longest-running LPGA event in Asia, following Japan’s Japan Classic. Since its inception in 2006, the tournament has grown steadily over nearly two decades, having been held 18 times.

The tournament has served as an inspiration for young golf enthusiasts, many of whom have gone on to compete on the world’s professional golf stage. What started with only a few Thai players in the LPGA Tour has now expanded to over ten Thai golfers. Thai golfers have already won a total of 28 LPGA titles, including 3 major championships—two by Ariya Jutanugarn and one by Patty Tavatanakit. Additionally, the International Crown Team Championship in 2023 was won by Jeeno-Atthaya Thitikul, Moriya Jutanugarn, Ariya Jutanugarn, and Patty Tavatanakit. All of Thailand’s leading golfers have emerged and developed their careers through the Honda LPGA Thailand.
Currently, the Honda LPGA Thailand has become one of the events that golfers worldwide plan to compete in, thanks to Thailand’s renowned tourist destinations, diverse food, and rich cultural experiences that attendees can enjoy each time they visit.

Tommy Tangtiphaiboontana, Senior Vice President of LPGA Tour Operations, stated, “The Honda LPGA Thailand has now completed its 18th edition, making it the second-longest-running event in Asia. We are proud to witness the continued development of this event, the collaboration of our partners, and the growing number of world-class golfers from Thailand. The LPGA has had a significant role in the Asian market by providing opportunities for our athletes to showcase their skills and develop golf through the USGA*LPGA Girls Golf program internationally. We hope to continue our relationship with partners like the Honda LPGA Thailand for many years to come.”
In the 17 previous editions of the Honda LPGA Thailand, two Thai golfers have claimed victory: Ariya Jutanugarn in 2021 and Patty Tavatanakit in 2024. The tournament has received increasing fan support, with more golf fans attending each year. In 2025, over 50,000 fans from both Thailand and abroad attended the event over four days (compared to 43,595 attendees in 2024).
The Honda LPGA Thailand will continue to grow and inspire the next generation, encouraging them to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors to become world-class professional golfers. Even for those who may not pursue a career in golf, the experiences and lessons gained from the tournament can be applied to life and help continue the development of the Thai golf industry.
