Jacobsen Studio, Yabu Pushelberg and Raymond Jungles, Inc. have been appointed to shape Aman’s first destination in The Bahamas

Aman is delighted to reveal the design for Amancaya, its forthcoming destination in Exuma, The Bahamas. Meaning ‘peaceful island’ in Taíno, Amancaya is located in one of the most exceptional regions of the Exumas, known for its crystalline waters, serene white-sand beaches, and world-class diving and boating. Positioned within a unique private island setting, the property will comprise a 36-pavilion hotel and a limited collection of Aman Residences, bringing the brand’s coveted lifestyle to The Bahamas for the first time.
Envisioned as a secluded island sanctuary, immersed in untouched nature, Amancaya is shaped by both land and sea. Providing unparalleled service and best in class amenities for residence owners and hotel guests, facilities include exclusive access to a dedicated marina, opening up the Exumas for seamless private exploration. In addition, a beach club set along the water’s edge, an Aman Spa and Fitness Centre surrounded by natural landscaping and nature trails, and a range of dining venues will complete the experience.

With a distinguished group of creative collaborators appointed to bring the project to life, Amancaya draws inspiration from the natural surrounds in harmony with the brand’s contemporary and minimalist design language. Brazilian firm Jacobsen Studio leads the architectural concept, applying a philosophy rooted in simplicity, material integrity, and a close dialogue with the environment, while interiors are designed by Yabu Pushelberg, whose work is defined by a refined and sensory approach. With connection to nature as an integral part of all Aman properties, landscape architecture is led by Raymond Jungles, Inc., who is celebrated for crafting ecologically responsive settings that restore and elevate native landscapes.
Alongside the hotel, the exclusive collection of Aman Residences are thoughtfully positioned to ensure complete privacy, each featuring a dedicated swimming pool and expansive indoor-outdoor living spaces that embrace the landscape. Ranging from three to five bedrooms, the branded residences will have access to the resorts facilities while being fully serviced by Aman, delivering the discretion and refinement for which the brand is renowned.
Speaking about the development, Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group, said: “A private island in one of the most beautiful corners of the world, Amancaya represents a significant evolution for Aman in the Caribbean. A project defined by its unique location and connection to nature, we are creating a destination that reflects Aman’s enduring philosophy of space and privacy while providing intuitive service, best in class amenities and a first-of-its-kind design collaboration in The Bahamas.”

A groundbreaking ceremony took place on 17 April 2026, on-site, bringing together partners and collaborators to mark this important milestone for the project. As development progresses with the involvement of OKO Group and Squircle Capital, Amancaya will continue to be guided by a commitment to environmental stewardship and a considered approach to building within this exceptional natural setting. The project’s environmental goals are aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with plans to achieve LEED certification, a globally recognised standard for responsible design.
Amancaya reflects Aman’s enduring commitment to discretion and design in harmony with nature, joining existing properties Amanera in the Dominican Republic and Amanyara in Turks and Caicos to complete a diverse Caribbean offering. This vision continues to evolve through a pipeline of forthcoming destinations across the Americas, including Amanvari on Mexico’s East Cape, opening this summer, alongside Aman Beverly Hills and Aman Miami Beach.
