ROOMS TO HIGHLIGHT

Wild Ember: Flickers of gold, bronze, and bright mustard yellow against the shimmering ‘Metal Moiré,’ a textile wallcovering woven with metallic yarns and black threads, and the textured Lacquer wallpaper on the ceiling set a mystical tone for this beguiling room. The lavish accents of burnished gold ‘Railay’ curtains, tribal and animal prints, and bespoke decoratives like the shagreen mirror and exotic table lamps by Muse Design add a hint of adventure.

Haute Hues: Unrestrained creative expression inspired the playful and eclectic use of pattern on pattern, geometric shapes, embroidered linen curtains and color-on-color in this luxurious living space with freeform furniture and decorative pieces from Art Resources.

A Homage to Dawnridge: A pattern-on-pattern extravaganza with iconic images of Tony Duquette’s ‘Golden Sunburst’ sprawling from wall to ceiling juxtaposed with unique antique furniture sourced from DeSiam. The vibrant colors and exotic patterns blend seamlessly with trimmings from Duquette’s Dawnridge collection. Behind the iridescent settee are distinctive roman curtains featuring the ‘Sortelegium’ print and stunning images of Duquette’s personal collection of corals, objets d’art, and Asian artifacts displayed at his residence.

Drawing inspiration from the sunroom at Duquette’s Dawnridge, the hallway which connects the rooms is filled with intriguing details. The bold, coral-red outlines of oriental frames, panes, and extravagant mirrors are set against the striking emerald green backdrop of Tony Duquette’s ‘Malachite’ wallpaper, featuring bewitching organic shapes. Embracing Duquette’s renowned maximalist approach, this is a mystical world of contrasting patterns and scales, dramatic colors, exotic fabrics, bamboo blinds, and trimmings. The whimsical furniture, such as the coral-shaped chandelier with oversized lamps and tassels in a stunning red hue, adds a touch of whimsy to the grandeur.

At Kachama’s: The unique hand-woven cushions with shaggy, ruffled loose strands set the stage for a striking room that redefines rustic. The designer was inspired by Kachama Perez, a textile artist based in Chiang Mai who works with natural materials native to Thailand. Kachama weaves these materials, including bamboo, seashells, and coconut tree bark, into her own intricate reconstruction of traditional textiles that are unique to each hill tribe. The wallcovering by a French brand Élitis is a digital interpretation of Kachama’s work; her original hand-woven pieces are also displayed. Locality, regionality, and a deep appreciation for ethnic cultures are celebrated from floor to ceiling – even in the custom furniture pieces like the stunning lighting centerpiece, made from traditional baskets that are used to collect tea leaves in Northern Thailand.

The new Jim Thompson Home Furnishings Spring Collection 2023 is a testament to the brand’s commitment to quality, luxury, and innovation. With a wide range of products that stretches beyond silk, the company is well-positioned to meet the diverse needs of its customers. The showroom is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for their next inspiration and the 11 newly launched model rooms are sure to leave visitors in awe.
