(Shanghai, China) – “Gino” Atthaya Thitikul, the world No. 1, will be joined by fellow Thai stars “Me” Ariya Jutanugarn, “Patty” Pajaree Thavatchakaran, “Myo” Pajaree Anannarukarn, “Piano” Aphichaya Yubol, and “Champagne” Chonmalee Santivivatwong in pursuit of the title this week at the Buick LPGA Shanghai in China, battling among top LPGA golfers for a prize pool exceeding 71.4 million THB.

The Buick LPGA Shanghai carries a total purse of USD 2.20 million (approximately 71.4 million THB) and will be held at the Qizhong Garden Golf Club (Par 72) on the outskirts of Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, from October 9–12, 2025. A field of 82 players will contest a 72‑hole stroke play event with no cut. This marks the first event of the Asia Swing’s autumn stretch, before heading to South Korea, Malaysia, and Japan. Defending champion Yin Yuanning of China returns to defend her crown.

This week, six Thai golfers will tee off:

“Gino” Atthaya Thitikul, world No. 1, winner of five LPGA professional events. She returns to this tournament after finishing T5 last year. This season she has already claimed the Mizuho Americas Open and recorded 11 top‑10 finishes in 17 events.

“Me” Ariya Jutanugarn, with 12 LPGA wins including two majors. She competes here for the fifth consecutive year, having posted three top‑10 finishes (T2 in 2018, T7 in 2019, T3 in 2023). Last year she tied for 70th.

“Patty” Pajaree Thavatchakaran, with two LPGA victories (one major), tees up for the third time after finishing T36 in 2023 and T16 last year. In 2025, she has two top‑10s in 17 starts.

“Myo” Pajaree Anannarukarn, a two‑time LPGA winner, competes for the fourth time, with past finishes of T33 (2019), T58 (2023), and T26 (last year). This season she has one top‑10 in 21 events.

“Piano” Aphichaya Yubol plays in this event for the third time, having tied for 21st in 2023 and T9 last year. In 2025, she has one top‑10 result in 20 starts (in Mexico).

“Champagne” Chonmalee Santivivatwong, formerly an LPGA member, will make her debut in this event through a spot allocated by the China LPGA Tour.

Other notable LPGA competitors include major champions such as Miyu Yamashita (Japan), Minjee Lee (Australia), Kim A‑lim, Kim Sei-young (Korea), Jennifer Kupcho, Lilia Wu, Allisen Corpuz (USA), Ashleigh Buhai (South Africa), and tour winners like Nasa Hataoka, Rio Takeda (Japan), and Miranda Wang (China).

Past champions in the field include Yin Yuanning (China, defending champ), Angel Yin (USA, 2023 champion), and Daniela Kang (USA, champion in 2018 & 2019) via sponsor invitations.
