After a hiatus, no thanks to Covid, Singapore will set the stage once more for an epic night race for Formula 1 in 2022.

In addition to the biggest racing stars and the fastest cars on the planet set to battle in the city, the stage is also set for a blockbuster weekend of entertainment.  Like previous years’ events, there will be a number of exciting performances and concerts being held throughout the race weekend. This year fans will get to see acts such as Marshmello, Westlife and Green Day headlining the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix.

More like a rock festival than a Formula 1 race, it’s no wonder Singapore has firmly cemented itself as a fan’s favorite since joining the F1 calendar in 2008. The trackside atmosphere at Marina Bay is electric and the organizers put on a big show which goes a long way to justifying the high-ticket prices, including A-list concerts and spectacular fireworks display after the race has finished.

In addition to around 6 hours of F1 action, Marina Bay hosts other minor racing series. In previous year, the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific have featured on the Singapore Grand Prix schedule. This year, the Thailand Super Series will race twice over the race weekend. It has also been confirmed that the all-female W Series will be racing in Singapore in 2022, replacing a planned round at the following weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix.

The 5.063km Marina Bay Street Circuit looks spectacular with the backdrop of Singapore’s skyline. But it is a gruelling test for the drivers who must contend with the physical demands of humidity, 23 corners, and the close walls of the street track.

F1 first headed to Singapore in 2008, but there is still no other circuit on the calendar that matches the uniqueness of Turn 18, where the track heads underneath a grandstand to give fans a top-down view of the cars.
