The British school’s first campus outside the UK brings more than 460 years of educational heritage to a 70-rai site near Siam Country Club, with a Senior School planned for 2027.

CHONBURI, – Highgate International School Thailand, established through a partnership between Siam Motors Group and Highgate School in London, has officially opened its first campus outside the United Kingdom. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr Palakorn Suwanrath, Privy Councillor, President of the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under Royal Patronage and Executive Committee Member of the Chaipattana Foundation, and attended by the school’s leadership team, teachers, parents and distinguished guests.
The milestone marks the international expansion of Highgate School, a distinguished British educational institution with a history spanning more than 460 years, bringing its educational heritage and approach to learning to Thailand.
Located near Siam Country Club in Chonburi, the 70-rai campus began academic operations in August 2026, welcoming children aged two to 11 to its Pre-Prep and Junior Schools. Following a positive reception from its founding families, the school plans to open its Senior School in 2027, further expanding its educational offering.
For families, choosing a school involves more than academic achievement. The learning environment, community and opportunities for personal development all play an important role in shaping a child’s future. Highgate International School Thailand aims to bring these elements together through its educational philosophy, “Learning Beyond Boundaries”, combining Highgate’s London heritage with the needs and aspirations of families in Thailand.
The school is supported by an experienced founding leadership and teaching team tasked with establishing its academic standards, educational culture and community from the outset.

Ms. Tanyaporn Phornprapha Tangcravakoon, Chair of the School Board of Highgate International School Thailand, said the school was created to provide an environment where children can develop their individual interests, build confidence and enjoy the learning process.
“Highgate Thailand was created from a desire to provide a space where children can truly learn and grow as individuals. We aim to build a community where children are encouraged to explore, experiment with confidence and find joy in every step of their growth. We would like to thank every family that has placed its trust in us and chosen to become part of the Highgate family from the very beginning,” she said.
Mr. Ben Keeling, Head of School at Highgate International School Thailand, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the school’s local team and its established educational network in London.
“I feel enormously grateful to have been granted the opportunity to found this wonderful school and am greatly appreciative to have been able to do so alongside such an esteemed collection of partners and friends. Those in London have been critical contributors and will continue to be deeply involved in the direction of our school through their involvement in its governance,” he said.
He added that Highgate’s commitment to intellectual curiosity, wholehearted participation and social responsibility aims to equip students with the intellectual, emotional, cultural and practical skills needed to lead fulfilling lives and make positive contributions to the world around them.
A Campus Designed for Well-Rounded Development

The school places emphasis on curiosity, academic rigour, active engagement, enthusiasm, community and kindness. These values underpin a programme designed to encourage students to explore their interests, develop their capabilities and engage meaningfully with the world around them.

These include modern classrooms, a library and research spaces, art and music studios, a FIFA-standard football pitch and an Olympic-size swimming pool.

Outdoor areas also provide opportunities for students to connect with nature, complementing the school’s broader focus on personal growth and emotional well-being. Together, the facilities are designed to create an environment where academic learning, creative expression, sport and social development can thrive alongside one another.
With its combination of British educational heritage, purpose-designed facilities and an expanding academic programme, Highgate International School Thailand adds a new international education option to Chonburi, serving families seeking a learning environment that extends beyond the classroom.
